Checking in Week One

Hey class, looks like most are introducing themselves.  Great work.  I have added a discussion forum called Grade Track, in this forum you can sign up for the grade track you desire.  It is a public forum so we can see other students who may be going for the same track as you for help or support.  I will also create a forum at the end called Open Forum.  In this forum feel free to chat and ask questions or comments to which your peers can post replies.  This is an ungraded forum, just a more casual way to discuss any ideas, float questions, or "chat" like you would in a classroom setting (i.e., anyone know a good restaurant for the weekend?).  You can post recipes, images, or topics that you think will help create a supportive culture in the course.  This is your forum to post topics as you like.

I will be checking the presentation list later this week and updating our schedule so students can see who has chosen what.  Remember all essays are listed under "Discussions."  You should all be able to see who has composed messages requesting what essays.  If one is taken, select another that is open with no postings.  If duplicates need to happen, email me asap and let me know all the slots are full.  I will advise from there.  Hope you are beginning to get a 'feel' for the course and are finding some interesting service learning partners (a partner is an organization, not necessarily a person--had some confusion about that in my in-class sections).

And remember, my office hours are also for you, so feel free to call me on my office phone or email with any questions or concerns you may have.

Blessings!
